EQUIP Day '22: Understanding Islam for Christians

God has providentially brought “every tribe, tongue, and nation” to Virginia – especially Afghans, who practice Islam. This workshop for Christians will both introduce Islam for the beginner and go deeper for the experienced, delving into cultural and biblical issues related to being the fragrance of Jesus Messiah among Muslims. After emerging around AD 610 largely based on hearsay from the Bible, Islam diverged increasingly further from its biblical basis in the following centuries. Yet today there's a return to the Old and New Testaments in the Muslim world, as God's Spirit draws Muslims to God's living Word – Christ. How? Why? Where? And could it be – through you, among Muslims in Fredericksburg in 2023? Come pray with others, contemplate sociological factors like honor/shame, and hear stories of God’s grace in the lives of Muslims who have entered God’s Kingdom. Opportunities to connect with local Afghans after the workshop will be offered. End the year equipping!

Suggested donation of $25 includes lunch and a small donation toward John Weaver, who's traveling from out of town to be with us. If bringing multiple people or in difficult times financially, please adjust the donation amount to what you can afford. Please register each person regardless, so we have a head count, even if not donating toward each individual ticket!

Minimum Age: We have no minimum age and would be especially excited to have mature teens or preteens join us. Nursing babies may also be okay with Mom :).

Young Children: At this point we have no childcare booked, but we are interested in procuring it if needed. Please let us know if that would help you, so we can gauge the need.
